Contact Juggling is Freaky! I'm just sayin.

Link goes to list of MPG video clips of various lengths. (All are *ahem* safe for work. Unfortunately.) Anybody got more vids?

  • I think David Bowie did some of that in Labyrinth.
  • I'd like to see routines more than individual tricks. Speaking of juggling, ESPN had the World Juggling Federation (WJF) nationals on the other day. Penn Jillette of Penn & Teller was one of the announcers. It was interesting to see just what these people could do. I max out at three balls but they could juggle up to eight.
  • he's good. he looks fairly young too. nice to see someone so accomplished!
  • hierarchii: Agreed wrt routines vs. tricks. But I'm lazy. So there you have it.
  • I've maxed out at two balls.
  • Well, he's half good.... might consider getting his other hand moving. And it was David Bowie's *character*, the Goblin King that did that juggling :)

(this is mentioned on the DVD, but here's the skinny from IMDB) The various things that Jareth does with the crystal balls (rolling them around his arms and in his hands and so forth) are not camera tricks or any other kind of special effect. They are actually done by choreographer Michael Moschen, who is an accomplished juggler.
  • I love how he poses when he finishes this one: http://www.jcpsystems.com/juggling/Back%20to%20Front%20Armroll.mpg
  • The mathematics of juggling: siteswapping I don't get the math (I don't get *any* math), but I thought the mathy monkeys might enjoy it.
  • I consider myself an alright juggler, but that Circle is awesome!
  • i thought you meant contact lenses. now THAT would be impressive.
  • I would be more impressed if he could do this with live kittens. Or his own balls.
