The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse trailer which requires Quicktime. Batman Begins full trailer, which also requires Quicktime, and George A. Romero's Land of the Dead trailer in Quicktime or Windows Media. (Simon Pegg & Edgar Wright are apparently in this movie as cameo zombies based solely on Romero's enjoyment of Shaun of the Dead).

How's that for a slice of fried gold?

  • Land of the Dead is SO going to kick ass. Dennis-friggin-Hopper! Does anyone know if Tom Savini is doing the FX? *shoots HuronBob in the head*
  • For a second there, I thought zombies were the common element between these movies. I couldn't for the life of me see where they fit in the Batman film, though. Frightened criminal: "Who are you?" Zombie Batman: "Braaaaains."

  • League of Gentlemen... when I first saw that link, I mentally inserted "Extraordinary" and agreed that a sequel would indeed be the Apocalypse.
  • Savini isn't doing the fx on this. This is a very different film than Romero has made in the past..he actually had a major studio involved and had a budget for it (You can thank the success of the Dawn of the Dead remake for that). I don't think Savini has the skills to do this kind of movie. He's a nice guy but I think this one was a bit out of his league..
  • I'm really hoping that Land of the Dead doesn't suck ass. The Island looked good, but then I saw the director, which killed any enthusiasm I was building up.
  • Shame, that. But I can't argue with the fx in the Dawn remake, which I just acquired a director's cut of, which was excellent. I still think the stuff that came before the introductory credits began (the nurse waking up in the morning with her neighborhood getting zombified) was the most realistic representation of the concept of anarchy in suburbia I've ever seen on film. Both eye-wrenching and oddly laconic at the same time. Even if Savini didn't do the FX for Dawn, it was nice to see his cameo as the hardass cop interviewed on TV exhorting people to (of course!) shoot them in the head. Kevin Bacon! My ex-boss' son is a star student in Savini's FX school in Pennsylvania; and I recently discovered that the son of one of my company's personal clients is the guy who wrote the screenplay for Dawn, James Gunn. (he also wrote, reportedly, both Scooby Doo movies). Do you show up anywhere visible in the Director's cut, HB?
  • Fes... the only place I'm possibly actually in the movie is the scene outside the gunshop where the propane tank is rolling around the zombies feet.. I was there someplace and managed to kick the can a few times during the 15 or 20 takes.. :) Might be my feet in there someplace! My son managed to make a few seconds in the directors cut extras. There's a scene where they are shooting zombies at the shooting range (actually a LA PD SWAT team trainer that's a friend of Zack's that is doing the "training" in that segment. My son is briefly seen as a zombie handler at the end of a long pole that has a zombie attached to the other end.
  • Oh, yeah? You think you're so cool, huh? "Oh, I'm a zombie, I was in Dawn of the Dead, I'm too cool for you, blahblahblah..." Well dig this! Joey Lauren Adams is going to scout my house as a possible place to shoot scenes for her new movie! Now who's cooler? Okay, okay, you still are. I wish someone would make me a zombie...
  • MCT... Yeah, I'm cool... (but, let me have that brief moment of coolness, I spent 12 years in public school being the shortest kid in my class..the world owed it to me!)
