When did the mystery auction become such a big thing on Ebay.

I much prefer the haunted objects auctions. Though I would enjoy the full denouement where we get to see, a la Let's Make A Deal, the winning bidder receive his or her parcel and open it to find... a Giant Tricycle! (complete with wa-wa sound effects)
