LA Monkey Meetup and T Shirt Stuffing Party Most everyone who needs to know already does, but I thought I'd let it be known to the monkeysphere that yours truly, space kitty, PY, mandyman, sexyrobot, cellar floor and goofyfoot are (more than likely) gonna meetup at Casa de Calamari for a potluck and t shirt stuffing party this Wednesday night at 7:00pm.   • Awesome turnout - I'll be there in spirit. Just put a cardboard cutout of me holding a t-shirt and looking busy in the corner somewhere.

  • Ok, so I am making short ribs in barolo and port sauce and mandyman is bringing potatoes, mashed. I'll do steamed green beans as well, but can someone do a simple salad? Something like romaine lettuce, tomatoes, green onions and cucumbers with a simple vinaigrette. In other words, something fresh, sharp and tart to cut the richness of the mashed and ribs. Oh, and BYOB.

  • Wow, that sounds fancy. Given your salad situation, my own contribution now sounds kind of worthless, but I'm not somewhere conducive to salad-making at the moment. BYOB? Ok, I'll be bringing my own vegetarian meal too.
  • Have fun tonight!!! In unrelated news, I totally just got a tattoo. It hurt, but I kind of liked it. Photos will be on the blog tomorrow night.

  • OK, I'm not going to make it (and if I had, you'd have gotten Red Cabbage Slaw and probably considered it way too sweet), but I haven't ruled out a field trip to Rancho Calimari to pick up my 2 shirts and save the Monkey Collective some postage. Or, you can meet me Friday at the Star Wars Line at Graumann's theater (somebody's paying me to interview the Line People).
