Curious George: Logic Express 7 Work is thinking of buying it, and they want my opinion. Anyone ever actually used this thing? Whadja think?
  • I used to use Logic when it was still on PC-based systems (a couple versions back, but my advice is still probably relevant), and if you have little experience with recording software, it's pretty good. The learning curve is fairly simple, the software is powerful, and the built-in plugins sound very nice. I particularly liked their chorus plugin; much nicer sounding to me than Cakewalk's. I guess to be more helpful with my advice: where do you work?
  • We found a killer deal on it ('cause we are through the University, we get those), so we already bought it today. From what I've read, it looks pretty pimp, and it gave us an excuse to upgrade to OSX.3. YAY! But thanks tons for the reply, chimaera!!!
  • I switched to Logic Express about six months ago. The learning curve is steep (coming from the ever-crappy but oh-so-easy Cubase), but the features in the LE box (esp. at edu pricing) is unbeatable. Now, if only I had time to actually complete a project...
