Curious George: Firefox + IMBd = poo. Everytime I go on IMBd using Firefox it freezes. Is it just me? *sniff*

  • And no it doesn't do that with me - I use win2k and the latest firefox. You might want to update if you haven't already. Firefox has been acting weird lately for me though.
  • Oo, I want to see Sin City. Altho Jessica Alba is a terrible actress, imo. *sigh* Okay, I'll do that. Will I lose my bookmarks? Running an iBook G4 if that makes a diff.
  • Nope, IMDB's worked fine for me for years. Have you tried reinstalling?

  • I have no problems with this although some sites like pepys diary blog seem to choke, for some reason. Try this: 1. Type about:config in location bar 2. Find (scroll down to) network.dns.disableIPv6 3. Right click on above item 4. Choose toggle so the setting is 'true'. This might help, but if it doesn't, it won't screw anything up.

  • Ms. Alba is hardly in it. Rosario plays a much larger role. Although Bruce Willis really steals the show.

  • I was sad that the little girl who played Nancy was a MUCH more convincing actress than Alba... Although I can't deny Frank miller has some serious issues, Sin City was incredible. Nine thumbs up!
  • Sin City was awesome. Alba was considerably better than usual, IMO. Marv fucked some shit up.
  • However, the fact that Brittany Murphy has a career just continues to astound me. I loved the movie too, but what was up with those IRA mercenaries? Worst. Accents. Ever. On the upside though, I want a parole officer.
  • Yeah. I'll take a parole officer that gives me pills. I never thought Carla Gugino was all that hot before this flick, but...Damn. And seconded on the Rosario Dawson hotness.
  • I did like the breasts. Overall i felt like to might have made an amusing 15 minute cartoon. but man, was that boring. In the movie, Bruce Willis' character (I think) says "is this the end?" Someone in the theatre I was at said, out loud, "I hope so!"
  • stray, I think, from memory, IMDb often has flash-based advertising on their front page. Try getting adblock or a similar extension, see if that helps. Or has one of the comments above fixed it?
  • Hey, stray, if you update Firefox, you shouldn't lose the bookmarks. If you are worried at all you should use the 'export' function in the 'manage bookmarks' area of Firefox to put a copy of them in a safe place. However, theres a good possibility that if the problem is with your install of Ff, then simply re-installing or updating might not work, as Ff uses individual user profiles that save things like bookmarks, configuration, extensions, etc. If you update or re-install and the problem persists, you will have to erase the old profile and start a new one... You can find info on profiles here, and how to back them up here.

  • I know that IMBd doesn't work, but I tried CNDb and got a wealth of filmic information. (NSFW because of the ads, but nonetheless an invaluable resource.)
