PostSecret
"Over 3000 visitors to a Washington DC arts festival picked up postcards inviting them to share a secret anonymously. Before Artomatic ended in December 2004, 148 PostSecret cards, with secrets - some illustrated - were received through the mail."

artomatic is very, very cool. it's full of stuff like this. in fact, there's so much stuff, you can't see it all! so i'm glad you posted this. warning: extremely addictive! yowsa. anyone care to share any secrets?
-
Fascinating, and a tad frightening. )))
-
Wow. )))))
-
What's really great about this is the multitude of emotions they convey. One moment I'm cracking up over one, then next, it's frighteningly shocking and honest. Nice!

Guillermo Gomez Pena did an art installation where he offered the opportunity for people to "confess their sins to a Mexican." (It's been a few years -- I think that's how he put it...) They could either tell him in a special video confessional or write it down on paper. It's strange how willing people were to confess.

I like the big joyful ones. I'd never heard of Artomatic before - so there's more I should wallow in at their site, SideDish? I'd tell a secret, but I'd want to illustrate it, and can't here. You?
-
Goofy, fer shure you can--paint or photoshop it and put post it with a jpg on a linky psst! Goofy's got a seeeekreeet. Goofy's got a seeeekreeet.

Wow...that is great )))))))! Good find!
-
)))) Best site I've seen in ages. Thanks goofyfoot!
-
Nice link, thank you.
-
There was (perhaps still is) a site where people could post secrets online anonymously. That was fun but this is so much better. I think it is the time taken in writing and illustrating the secrets that makes them seem more genuine. Many are poignant, many funny. Thanks goofyfoot.
-
)))!!! Fascinating glimpses -- what wonderfully eloquent and imaginative creatures we are. Thanks, goofyfoot.
-
Thanks for that. Excellent site.
-
I quite like 'We Built This City on Rock and Roll" by Starship. There. I've said it.
-
And I'm not forgetting it, you prevert.

*starts humming / doing that 80s soft-rock shoulder dance*

I bet you also like Rick Springfield, you gaylord.
-
I don't even know who he is, you goddam canucktard!
-
You know I wish that I had Jesse's Girl! I wish that I had Jesse's Girl! Where can I find a woman like that?
-
Rick Springfield's real name is Richard Lewis Springthorpe.
-
I bet he was known as 'Dick Spring' at school.
-
He wants you to duck into that alley 'round the corner with him. Go ahead.
-
Will he let me touch his 'puppy's' shiny wet nose?

Heh. I was listening to music here, and for some reason it thought I might like to listen to that Rick Dickspring Twat. Awful. Bearing in mind I'd been telling it I wanted to hear the Smiths, Cocteau Twins, Massive Attack and Japan! Sheesh.
