Naked Man Shot and Killed and was threatening three unclothed children? WTF news story of the day. (Anonymous login does exist for this story!)
  • oh THAT's what my mom meant in her email. she wrote, "have your sister tell you about the naked man." sister lives in kenosha. hmmm. kenosha is a generally very bucolic and lovely little city, this is certainly an anomaly. or however that is spelled.
  • Police said they didn't immediately know the man's identity. Why don't they check his wallet? ...ba-dum pshhh!
  • my former kitty now lives in kenosha, i hope he's not too traumatized.
  • This sparked quite the debate on IRC...mainly over the use of force. While I understand the police are here to protect, doesn't it seem excessive to kill a naked person weilding scissors? Did the police not have a non-lethal option available to them? It was an even split on either side of this case...those who were for it pointed out the difficulty in shooting a person in a specific place (tho mind you, we pay an awful lot to train cops to do just this neh?) during an adrenaline intense showdown. Those against (like me) wondered what benefits society by killing this man...especially now that we will never know what prompted the incident. I wish this article had more detail on the history of the naked man, as well as the public reaction to his killing. MoFi thoughts?
  • What was the naked man doing with three naked children, apart from threatening one's throat with scissors and perhaps trying to throttle another? Where did he get these youngsters? Were they his? Did he abduct them? It doesn't seem very sane, really. Questions, questions. This tale is strange and incomplete.
  • More importantly - where was he keeping the scissors?
  • Well, what's funny is they couldn't confirm that they were scissors.
