Make Martha Stewart's poncho!
10 percent of the profits go to Xiomaro Hernandez at Alderson Prison, who made the now-famous "Welcome Home Poncho."

They're great for shoplifting or hiding in alleyway garbage heaps.
Wish it was about Martha Stewart's pongo. Or anyone's pongo.
I didn't like Martha before she went cheap and sold out to K-Mart. I didn't like Martha before she was a convicted felon. I didn't like Martha before she became a sad, sad victim. I didn't like Martha before she went to prison. (but, gotta admit it made me smile!) I didn't like Martha before she was released. I didn't like Martha when she WAS released. and...guess what...I don't care much for her now. Now, what is all this poncho stuff about??
huron, martha's poncho
has taken on a life of its own.
10% seems very low.
What gripes my ass is, this is a link to a web site where the woman is selling a pattern for $29...and giving only 10 percent to the woman who made the original poncho. (And for those who care...Lion Brand yarn has a free pattern on their web site. They may or may not be giving the woman who made the original money, but they do donate knitting/crocheting supplies to the prison.)
Sorry for stating the obvious: Politics aside, that thing is undescribably ugly. No woman can have a figure that bad that it could not get worse by hiding in that adopted trashbin. Ladies: You are beautiful. Yes, all of you. As long as you don´t own that poncho.
well, perhaps all ladies would also be beautiful when wearing nothing BUT the poncho. :-D that's what my sweetie would say. heh.
, not all "ladies" are beautiful. Go and look in the real world sometime, you know, outside the basement. They're actually 3D and they move and talk and everything. :) It is a kit, including yarn, which would explain the price tag. Ponchos are awful regardless; why hasn't this fad died out yet? Argh.
Yeah, I blame
too - he's a fucking poncho marketing genius.
Oh hell, I walked right into that. I'll take this moment to compliment Argh on the fabulous username.
40 minutes from 'all women are beautiful' to 'no, jackasses'? You're losing your edge, Wurlwilf.
! A FULL HOOK-UP RV PARK!
I'm more of a
guy. I never really dug the poncho.
Damn, Sidedish. That Poncho sure knows how to
I was busy kicking puppies and mugging old ladies, Richer. :)
Holy shit, SideDish! They've stolen my
Boys, not all "ladies" are beautiful. Go and look in the real world sometime, you know, outside the basement.
The ladies in my basement are beautiful.
(Is that a real poncho?...I mean is that a Mexican poncho or is that a Sears poncho? Hmmm...no foolin’...)
do a search on "ugly poncho" and
is what comes up.
Recently read capes and ponchos may be making a fashion return. "I never considered myself a cowboy, because I wasn't,"
once said. "But I guess when I got into cowboy gear I looked enough like one to convince people that I was."
Eastwood wore the same poncho, without ever having washed it
, in all three of his "Man With No Name" Italian-made "spaghetti" western movies,
I could hear that music and stare blissfully at that dancing kitty like, for hours and hours...
/is taken out for medication
perhaps someone could knit something for her to take care of this problem as well-
poor little Martha

When I arrived in UK late last summer, about four of every five girls I saw on campus were wearing ponchos. I bought two myself when they went on sale at the beginning of winter.
SideDish: Why is that one little girl flashing some thigh under her ugly poncho? It scares me, especially because she looks like Carrot Top.
I really wanted to find a pic of Ponch wearing a poncho. But no can do. Ah well, enjoy
I don't think ponchos are part of the CHP uniform (well, maybe rain ponchos). I thought Martha looked good in her poncho and I just like ponchos in general, maybe because they're kind of like capes. But then I'm not an early adapter in the fashion realm (and found it confusing to try one on in the store - why are there three holes?), so this probably means they're on their way out. When I heard about her poncho being made by a fellow prisoner I wondered if she would have the woman as a guest on one of her future shows post-release or if "prison-knit" might become the new "organic cotton" or pleather.
. Her release date is in 2008 so I guess that guest appearance won't be happening soon. The only info I found on her offense is from the
and it says that she is a "convicted crack and cocaine dealer."
No poncho is as ugly as that website. Animated gifs, misspelled words, midis and pink as a background colour = run away.
