Arthur Rackham's illustrations to Alice in Wonderland
(page seems to break in IE. Sorry. It works fine in Mozilla, though)

How strange! How marvellous!
-
fantastic dng - I'm sure the first editon of Alice i read as a kid used Rackham's illustrations. certainly they're long-time favourites. Didn't he do 'Puck of Pook's Hill' as well?
-
The faces of the characters are all very expressive. I especially like the Queen of Hearts. Now I'm tempted to get "Off with their heads!" from art.com.
-
Some other illustrators of Alice here. All interesting, still think I prefer Tenniel's, though.

More here, too.
