Here Comes Da Judge! Oklahoma courts are pumped full of hot, sweet justice.
  • Whats up with the court reporter saying she didnt report it because: "I didn't want to be found dead in a ditch somewhere," she said. He's obviously a (self) lover not a fighter.
  • That's the penal system for ya.
  • Having testified in innumerable cases, I can believe that this sort of thing happens more often than most people imagine. I've seen judges sort through personal paperwork, work on crossword puzzles and fall asleep in the middle of trials, and commit dozens of other questionable acts that have no place in a courtroom. Jacking off with a silly device is a cry for help, in my opinion. Let's hope they unseat him and get him the help he needs while they attempt to remedy the errors he's been making.
  • See also another very punny thread from June on the same subject. Not sure if that makes this a double post... this might be seen as a "follow-up" instead. For the record, "hot sweet justice" is one of the funniest sentences ever.
  • My dream job would allow me to masterbate at whim.
  • Only The Tick is allowed to use the term "creamy justice". Just an advance notice from a comic book geek.
  • Sometimes I find it really difficult to not plagiarize The Tick.
  • And Bone, I'm horrified that I missed the first thread, especially since the titles were practically identical. Next time I'll be sure to search the archives first. D'oh!
  • "I'm full of tinier men!!" /Tick
  • My dream job would allow me to masterbate at whim. Two words, dude. Home. Office.
  • Unfortunately, coppermac has it right. If I were a defendant in one of the trials he presided over, I would be screaming to have the verdict overturned because of his incompetence. And it would probably happen.
  • Wolof: You betcha. Most higher-up federal jobs in Washington would fit the bill. I cannot believe someone didn't call him on it before this. Or at least dump a bucket of cold water on him.
  • And it would probably happen. I believe that the article is right -- demonstrating potential prejudice wouldn't be enough. You'd have to show that there was actual prejudice.
  • Or, judicial incompetence that would adversely affect a defendant's right to a fair trial. I've seen it happen. Judges are by definition impartial arbiters who are supposed to manage their courtrooms and dockets according to the rule of law. If I were a defense attorney, I'd be all over this guy.
  • To be fair, this judge also made the cases of a lot of prosecutors difficult to manage. Not just the defendants were unfairly treated. This guy was a universal asshole, it seems.
