Visualizing Music
and Total Immersion Video: Two ways in which virtual reality is making a real world comeback.
Both are captivating and both via Negatendo. You're obliged to watch the videos on these sites; they're likely to evoke spontaneous giggling.

Well, strictly speaking the animation of the musical notes isn't "virtual reality". If so, then "Gertie the Dinosaur" was VR at the turn of the century. And the only real video that I could access is a VR jogging thing for gyms. Not an earthshaking development in the world of VR. We had much the same more than 10 years ago. If you have other links to something more cutting edge I'd love to see them.

OUCH! Well, I LOVED the animated notes and like the fact that you can see music... that's hardly groundbreaking, but a program that can code the music into something that might allow the deaf to "hear" seems like a new sort of VR to me. As for the second link, methinks you missed this video. Try that one and think about the possibilities for next gen video games and tell me you aren't salivating.
