  • Are those the actual lyrics?
  • These sound like the right lyrics to me, although they're sung not by a native Italian-speaker, but probably a Spanish-speaker (especially given the music, heh). Of course, the printed lyrics are just run-together phonetic representations, as heard by a German-speaker (Gitarrensolo?!). Reminds me a bit of the Quantum Leap where Sam is a mafioso and Al coaches him on singing Volare. Is there anything Al can't do?
  • Actual lyrics and some interesting facts here. I thought "nel blu dipinto di blu" was just a poetic way of describing the sky... didn't realise the flying guy had actually painted himself blue too. That's my Interesting Fact quota for the day then.

  • no, the song you are hearing is, indeed, the gipsy kings (note the spelling), with the italian lyrics, save the chorus, translated into gitane, a dialect of romanes spoken by gitans in the south of france heavily influenced by spanish and french, and performed in a rumba flamenca style.
