Irv Spence's Daily Diary
In 1944, MGM animator Irv Spence kept a cartoon diary of the daily goings-on in the cartoon industry. Big world issues (this WAS 1944) keep popping up, too. Filboid Sudge blogs the diary day-by-day.

Nice drawings. Why was 26 January so special and why are his head and hands in blocks of (ice?). Is Filboid Sudge anything to do with Filboid Studge? Perhaps we shall never know.

I think it might have been cold that day. Different Filboid, I'm bettin'.

Uh, this is fucking INCREDIBLE. Nice find!

Ooh, ooh - we got a mention ('Supid is as supid does'). The studge mystery is solved. Nice to think of these chaps sneaking jokey literary references into the background of their cartoons. I was pretty supid about the ice, though...
