How not to lift a car out of the water. Take one submerged car and attempt to lift it out. If it fails, try again with a bigger crane.
  • Hmm. Just notices the last picture is photoshopped.
  • Just to kill my own post: Snopes
  • Pretty sure it's a double, too.
  • Yep. Compare the people in the very last photo with photo #5. Thus the last frames are 100% bogus. And kind of distract from the coolness of the first photos.
  • Found it. Although this one seems to be the original.
  • I'll get me coat
  • +1 fast show reference
  • Just buy us a drink at the next London Mofi Meetup, and we'll call it quits ;)
  • Uh oh, it got posted on MetaFilter. This should be interesting.
  • *puts on MetaFilter protective helmet Heh heh, should have posted this in the "best" of the web thread, Carol. It's a classic now along with the badger and snake.
  • Actually, I remember the first time this was posted and the second (obviously Photoshopped) crane falling in the water shot was not there.
  • Snopes says that people like the second crane falling in, but I like the original better. Maybe it's because I know it is real, and thus is much more interesting than a photoshop - it also had the breathless and very Irish explanation attached. (I'm, of course, very glad no one was seriously hurt).
