Kingda Ka - the tallest, fastest roller coaster on earth This was posted back in September but Six Flags (New Jersey) has now "topped it off". Site includes some video of the construction, plus animation effects for those who will ride it.

  • The thing I can't figure out: I have no problems with the idea of doing aerobatics, loops, etc in a plane, but I'm too chicken to get on one of these things.
  • When will they save themselves some money and just start shooting people out of a cannon?
  • I rode this coaster when it was still the record holder, and I thought I would die. I think this coaster would kill me. I think I would die of fear and shock. My favorite coaster is Top Gun at Great America in Mountain View, CA. It starts with a barrel roll, so you don't get that gut-lifting feeling you get with most coasters. I can't stand rides that are just free-falls, like Drop Zone.
  • Actually, looking at the high res photo of this, I'm actually surprised at how tame it appears. 450 feet seems pretty tall when you're riding it, but seriously people, when'r we gonna have a coaster ride down the sheer vertical face of Petronas 1, spiraling off through level 47 of Petronas 2, down the elevator shaft, looping over the skybridge, and finally hitting the ground at 9 g's and 220 mph? "« Older Pussy Pops" ..as if they weren't gross enough as is.
