As if Google wasn't awesome enough... As if Google wasn't awesome enough - now it provides voyeurism! eheh Search Google with this string: inurl:"MultiCameraFrame?Mode=" You'll find hundreds and hundreds of "unsecured" webcams, many of which are security cameras. You can control a lot of them, too. (snagged from several places)
  • As if Google wasn't awesome enough!
  • I wasted 45 minutes of my time last night searching through parking lots and laundromats hoping, JUST HOPING, to see a tit or something. This method failed me. Voyeurism, if perhaps you get off looking into cafes at people or watching cars drive along a streetway.
  • I managed to watch a bunny in a pen move around and eat pellets. And a guy in Sweden wash a window outside the electronics store. I was elated. /Zzzzzzzzz
  • Definitely a zen-like experience... transience vs permanence sh*t and all that jazz.
  • a bunny in a pen move around and eat pellets Are you sure that it was real, and not some sort of tamagochi-like virtual rabbit? Hee hee.
  • I too found this pretty boring... lots of VERY slow links and lots of cams pointing at parking lots and streets...... So, I turned on my own cam and made faces into it, much more fun... Perhaps if we put the words "really exciting" in the search string we would do better... (or other words that you might come up with that i'm too polite to use in mixed company)
  • why does that search combined with any other terms not find any links?
  • more fun
  • If anyone gets a camera with some nekkidness on it, let me know.
  • If there's nekkid, wouldn't they secure it and sell it? You'd think.
  • My boss called me at home at 5:30 this morning, to tell me that all the security cams at our labs are freaking out, twitching and moving by themselves. Of course, I have nothing whatsoever to do with the security cams (hello, you hired a security company, though apparently they need a lesson in security themselves) but at least now I can torment him that I know what's going on. Thank God I only have one more day working for this rocket scientist.
  • It's good fun, esp. when you control the camera. You might want to check this other search out, with a different make (found on MeFi).
  • This is great, I've blogged some of the better ones I've found here.
  • Don't miss The Arcminute MicroKelvin Imager! (Explanation here, for what it's worth.) OK, that one's pretty boring, but I'm enjoying this Finnish Oppimiskeskuksen pohjakerros (whatever that is, it involves a lot of computers with bored-looking people sitting at them and occasionally wandering in and out).
  • skallas, that SMU one is great -- I've been watching a guy in a white shirt hanging around the right edge of the frame, looking wistfully at a blonde who came from the right edge and went out the door, and now there's two people behind the counter... whoops, now they're gone and White Shirt is pacing around again... the joint is jumpin'!
  • You'd think there'd be at least one cam in a nudist colony.
  • There was an 'experiment' in the William Gibson message board about a year ago, where a member found such a remote controlled camera in a lab somewhere. There was a researcher visible daily, never minding the camera motions. Members took on this as a challenge: how to communicate with the guy, just by pointing the cam, zooming in-out, etc.? A weeks long thread evolved; in the end, they did manage to enter in contact. It was fascinating to read the daily actions and machinations of the 'experimenters'; like trying to get noticed by some alien intelligence. Well, maybe a little less exciting than some camgirl, but interesting still. And if you haven't found free neekid cams, well, you haven't searched hard enough. But, mark my words: a month after the novelty wears off, you'll wait for the moments when they comb their hair, or put on clothes. And after that, you'll begin to get spooked by their souless gaze and forced smiles...
  • For reference, Oppimiskeskuksen pohjakerros is Study center's north floor. ;)
  • er, ground floor, sorry. ;D
  • I saw the SMU desk guy reach behind himself and scratch his back- for a minute there I thought he was going for the butt! Good stuff.
  • So, anyone else wondering how long it will take for this to hit the news?
  • Hopefully NEVER!!! I have lost countless hours on these links. I.....just......can't......stop!
  • Anyone amused by the fact Languagehat couldn't work out a language! HA! Take that, egghead!
  • MonkeyFilter: for a minute there I thought he was going for the butt! I'll show myself out . . .
  • In Language Hat's defence, I must say that I bet it's because he didn't want to take time to do it. ;) I don't speak Turkish, yet a friend had me translate something from it for him, and I didn't have too much problems learning bits of the grammer that I would only be using for a half hour :P Turned out what I translated was IRC "come look at my camera" spam, so that's the connection to this... Of course. :P
