Adventurous George Is a Monkey Adventurer You? I can't find the original KoL thread and fear it might be lost to the great purge of '04.

But in any case, as many of you monkeys may recall, we had quite a rockin' clan there, the Lords of Monkey Filtration. I'm embarassed to say the kingdom-of-changing-careers has kept me from KoL for far too long, and the clan hall has gotten somewhat musty, but I was hoping that this note might entice some of the old Monkeys back and perhaps we could get some new MoFi simians into the stick-figure wonders of KoL. btw, we desperately need another monkey to help keep the clan stocked full of bananas if my career change causes another lapse in loathing attendence. Any nominations?

  • Thanks for the reminder. I just spent a bunch of adventures at the gate (wasn't there some rare item being dropped there?). I notice our clan has only 10 bags of goodies. That's not very much. I guess we gotta get on the stick...
  • I'm still hanging around, although I don't do much these days except use my turns in the gym to raise my stats. If we are really going to make a push superiority for clan , I would be happy to make a 10 million meat donation to the coffers.
  • Sorry, all my adventuring time these days is taken up by WOW. Same thing goes for a good portion of my sleeping and eating times.
  • I HAT TEH KOL. Those people stole my SO. (Of course, she could say the same thing about Bungie). I was never able to get into it, my stoopid Pastamancer couldn't cast any spells... and I was too skeered to ask on their forums how to make it work, as they seem a little snobbish about n00bs. (And I really didn't feel like searching through 40 pages of FAQs to find the answer)... /thread hijack
  • I notice our clan has only 10 bags of goodies. Ah yes, that is by design. I wanted to gradually scale up our army, learning how much defense we needed to maintain. So far, we've been attacked by over 8 clans, and all have failed to grab a single goodie or injure an archer--damage to the cinder block has been minimal. So essentially, with the Phantom Trolbooth, we've been 50,000 meat each time they attack. It's quite a money-raiser.
  • I recently re-started ny character. When I get to a high enough level again I'll re-join the clan.
  • Debaser, join the clan; we're good at the question-answerage. (I'm almost at level 3, ran out of adventures looking for the asparagus knife.)

  • Hmmm... I must have missed or overlooked the original thread, but I saw this and joined last night. Ran through all my adventures before I figured out that I needed to equip (doh!), can you tell I haven't played these games before? Of course, now I'm totally addicted so I just created another character so I could play twice as much. Tonight hopefully I will reach level 3 and join the clan. It's a good thing I have some vacation time coming up, that's all I'm going to say.
  • Just don't join both characters to the clan; I think it's cheating according to game rules.
  • I am so in on this. I, too, just blew through my gifted 80-someodd adventures rather quickly. I am anxious for tomorrow. Man, I've no life.
  • I still check in from time to time. But there's nothing there to think about anymore, so it's a bit tired. I was hoping that someone would wake me when something interesting happened.

For all you rejoining, when you get to level 3, traipse over to the clan district and look for the "Lords of Monkey Filtration" and apply to join. If you send me a note, I'll know you're with MoFi. We've had some bad experiences with some rogue members, so the clan members have requested some minor vetting. As for a tutorial thing, I think it's mainly strightforward with the Toot Oriole on Mt. Noob and all that jazz. Remember that food and drink give you extra adventures each day.
  • Still in. I'm "virago" over there. Glad to see it's reviving! I don't have tons 'o' meat, but I am bored at the moment, so if there's anything in particular that I can rustle up for the good of the guild, I'd be happy to spend my adventures on something useful.
  • I was gifted with 5,000m on creating my new character the other day - I blew a chunk of it but the clan looks like it's pretty sweet meat-wise right now. I've decided to be more useful this time around so I've got a bunch of recipes and I'll be happy to make food/cocktails for the mall.

  • Glad to see a renewed interest in KoL! I've got wonderful news for those of you who don't frequent the forums: The last part of the Naughty Sorceress Quest, as well as ascension, will be complete before the end of February. For those of you who don't know what ascension is, go to this thread for information. There's a lot of fluff in there, so I'd recommend reading only Jick & Mr. Skullhead's comments. In the meantime, there's another game a friend of mine introduced me to a couple of days ago that I've found, while not as good as KoL, equally addictive. It's Adventure Quest. Enjoy!
