A writer looks at Hong Kong Hong Kong's blogging community is fractious. On the one hand you have locals who rarely have a blog presence, but when they do, their writing is explosive, enchanting, and wonderful to read. And then you have the expatriates. Often, they are very one dimensional people. But this blog seems to avoid that one-dimensional problem. The author showcases writing from locals, and also shines a light on the increasingly important life of Hong Kong's 6.8 million.
  • *looks around* Well, I like this. :-)
  • Yes, I like it too. I think of it as the "Gyan Syndrome": a great post that I can't come up with a comment for. Gyan posts wonderful stuff here, but I can never think of anything to say other than to thank the poster. So thank you.
  • I'll offer appreciation too and would love to make some relevant comment. I work with civil society organisations in Mainland China and naturally find Hong Kong perspectives very informative. Sadly it's another blocked link from here. However, please keep 'em coming Starc, some will get through, and then I'll bore you with more waffle than you could want.
  • Thanks everyone. From that blog, you can find many more, including, glutter, who is by all means, the most intelligent and scrappy blogger in Hong Kong. and she's a girl, so she gets more credit for that, dudes!
  • ooh, I like glutter - and hk reportage's photos
