lambert, Hendricks & Rossish Curious George Iā€™m designing a play and there is a reference that a google search only returns my question back at me.

So are any monkeys well versed in Jazz of the late 50ā€™ ā€“ early 60ā€™s?

  • Try a search for 'Lambert, Hendricks & Ross' (found it by removing the last name on your list)
  • While checking out Lamberts, Hendricks and the fabulous Annie Ross, be sure to listen to King Pleasure. And don't miss Eddie Jefferson the guy who seems to have invented the trick of writing a lyric to a recorded jazz solo. Modernly we have Kurt Elling who made a beautiful song out of Dexter Gordon's "Tanya" titled, "Tanya Jean" which appears on "The Messenger." It's a fabulous track and a wonderful lyric. Very L, H & R, with great images and language.
  • Yes, LH&R and Eddie Jefferson are the shit. For a contemporary group in that tradition, you could do worse than to check out recordings by New York Voices.
  • thanks I get it now it's Rossish.
