Curious, George: Beer Labels
I'm collecting the wonderful beer bottle labels I am finding on all these wonderful new microbrews that are appearing in my remote neck of the woods. Does anyone have a method of removing them from the bottle that is better than soaking?

If you wait for a minute or so after you pull the beer out of the fridge, the condensation will have loosened the label enough to peel easily off. /chronic beer label peeler

You can also try sending a letter with a SASE asking the brewer to send you a label. I've know a few people who have done so after finding a particularly striking label, and they've received a sample label more often than not. (It helps to extoll the virtue of the beer when writing the letter). Most microbreweries will be happy that someone enjoys both their beer and their label design.

Weeze: Are you collecting labels for brews other than what you personally sample? We have quite a few yummy micros here in Idaho, and I might could send you a few labels if you're interested. Might could send you a few taste samples if you're flush enough* to pay shipping and want to try them. *the Christmas giving spirit is still going strong, but the checking account is tapped out

Wow, thanks guys! BlueHorse: Actually, I lied. It's my father that is collecting the labels. It was just easier to say "I" in the post. I don't know, but I think it is ones he personally samples. Which brews are you referring to? Also, I didn't know you were an Idahoian! I'm about to graduate UI this week. Amazing...

I have seen people use these for wine bottle labels, but I have not used them myself. Label Savers I'd be interested in seeing how they work.

I usually collect the bottle cap or failing that i do what minda said.

You can also steam them off. I do it with wine labels so that I can keep a notebook of what I've had, and what it was like. Makes it easier to buy good ones and avoid bad ones.

Step 1: Smash Bottle. Step 2: Carefully remove shards of glass from precious label.
