I'd like to see them get their due. The voices of this chorus have got to be one of the most enduring and memorable sounds from the world of rock.

They're getting compensation. All this big news over less than $600 per singer? Seems like everybody these days is itching to sue somebody for something.

Well, it seems logical that people who were so essential to such an important song get some kind of credit -- I doubt the money's very significant to them (although I wouldn't mind getting $600 for something I did decades ago). The point seems to be the recognition that they played a part.

Doesn't royalties refer to money from the publishing of the song? That money belongs to the publishing company and the author of the song (Roger Waters). The chorus is an important part of the song, but it was still Waters' idea and his lyrics. If they are arguing that they were never paid for their work as session vocalists then I agree with that. Maybe my terminology is confused.
