• Michigan....more specifically the Huron River .... I spend my life on the river...fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and just cruising....
• Montana -- The Treasure State -- Big Sky Country!
• Vancouver - So it's pretty much exactly like where you are but with less cypress trees and more traffic.
• Nova Scotia: between a rock and a wet place! Great idea islander!
• Himi -- Japan. Himi = Fresh Fish
• Tuscon, AZ... Lot's of desert. Saguaro cactus, all that shit. A pretty liberal college town. Pretty boring.

• Beijing - where the ducks are nervous but the few surviving old neighbourhoods are quite nice despite a surfeit of wanky hipsters. Looking forward to a front seat at the next Olympics in the capital of the last(ish) worker's paradise!

• I live in Brunswick, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It's one of Melbourne's most multicultural suburbs, having settled by waves of Greek, Italian, Eastern European, Turkish, and Middle Eastern immigrants, as well as a growing proportion of South Asians and Africans (Somalis, etc.) Brunswick is also a bohemian/studenty place, with a long history of labor agitators, arts, and lefty politics. You can buy the best kebabs in the world on Sydney Road

• I was born in Montréal. At the age of 12 I moved to Brampton, Ontario, a boring place 45 minutes from Toronto. I then went to university in Waterloo, Ontario, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and am now attending school in Ottawa, Ontario. Some photos of just the current location: aerial view of Parliament; beautiful Gatineau Park in fall; the world's longest skating rink; the Tulip Festival. My heart is still in Halifax right now though. Hello fellow East Coasters! I never made it to PEI but we went to Antigonish all the time to see my husband's grandparents.

• Lubbock Texas, home of Buddy Holly and a lot of pregnant teens. Avoid if at all possible!
• Portland, Oregon, USA. Semi-funny story about how we moved here. My wife was quite pregnant and extremely unhappy about the long string of >100 degree days in Austin, Texas. I said, "It is strange that we live here. As a kid, I always thought I'd end up in Oregon.". She said, "Hey, me too!". So, Nebraska native me, and Florida native her somehow picked Oregon as the dream place in the U.S. to live. At the time, the tech market was still fairly hot, so I went looking for a job. I got a job within a couple weeks, and we moved four years ago. We really, truly love this town and this state. 1 hour to skiing, 2 to the ocean. Gorgeous scenery. Leftish atmosphere. After moving into my new place, we have neighbors whose names we know on a great block, with a great public school for the kids. /me happy in Portland.

• Since 2001 I haven't lived in one place for more than a year. For most of 2002 I lived in Palo Alto, CA, CA. I lived in Tala, Kenya for most of 2003. For most of 2004 I have been living in Bangalore, India. Where I would really love to live is Laos.
• I live in Blue Bell (formerly Pigeontown) which is only noteworthy for its proximity to Philadelphia. We like to eat here/here, hang around here, eat these , walk/bike/fish here. We gave you these guys. And we're the home of these and them.
• St. Catharines, Ontario. GM town minus GM. Now rebranding itself as a university town and hub of the Niagara region, with varying degrees of success. Specifically, I live in the old downtown, which is fairly dead. Like most North American cities of a certain size and era, I suppose.
• If you type my current residence into Google, you got a picture of this. Huh. It's none too exciting around here, but at night in the winter I can look out through the leafless trees and see the facility where this guy is. My abode is a nice little suburb of this place (despite the poor sports teams) and it's also home to a lot of trees, a lot of traffic, and these jokers. /wishing I was more world-travely.

I go to Bowling Green State University, and will soon get my Ph.D. in American Culture Studies. There are no hills here, so the wind whistles through and almost knocks you over in winter. • I live in Cambridge, UK. This is my house (not the whole thing, I just have a room there). This is the garden near my house. This is my college (where I go for lunch and stuff). I will never live in such a nice place again, so I'm savouring it while I can.
