History of computer graphics. Probably the best site I've seen delving into the early years of commercial computer graphics, with things like an ancient CGI console (bottom), and Tron and Scrubbing Bubbles. Lavishly illustrated and with QT movies.
  • This is awesome.
  • Superb. It's a bit disorganized, though, and towards the end it just starts rattling off the histories of various commercial CG companies... still, some fascinating information and hilarious photos.
  • HOLY SHIT. )
  • Great compilation. Ah, that top-hatted guy, the teapot, the mirror balls over the endless checkerboard plane... I've specially liked the realistic lightning and model mappping techniques pioneered by Paul Debevec.
  • I had forgotten how exciting this stuff was when I was a kid -- until '92 or so when I saw Disney's the Beauty and the Beast and said "this is SO obviously CG" at the ballroom scene. The charm was gone.
  • fantastic resource. thanks!
