PEST: Post Election Selection Trauma
A real news article? A meme-gone-wild? A true affliction? It's got legs - of a sort, anyway.
I just thought it was an interesting study in memetics. It is too a real word!

I personally didn't sleep for two or three days after the election. Also, a few monkeys may remember my rantings and ravings on the 'filter immediatly after Ohio fell. It did depress me. I had been working hard for months, spent about a week down in Philly talking to people door to door. I truly beleived Kerry was going to win. So I took a break, refocused myself, left the national news behind for a little bit, and have tried to take up drawing with little success. I'm feeling better, looking forward to spending a year in japan on the JET program, and feeling better about the world, but not quite so much about the states. See Kos for details. But in the end, America will survive, it'll take more than this to take us down. I just hope it doesn't get so far that we need another Smedley Butler to drag us out of the pit. I'll be back for 2008 though in full force, and hopefully the 2006 local elections as well, but I may have to go absentee....

Good news all around Freen (except for the election part . . ) Keep us updated on the JET thingy - that sounds fun.
