Delta employee fired for "inappropriate" pictures on her blog. NYT article registration req. Diary of a flight attendant found here.

One more reason to keep your personal life private. In lieu of the Friendster debacle, is anyone safe? Is this the "invisible hand" of big brother?

  • "In the past people expected flight attendants to be young and attractive," Ms. Simonetti, a 29-year old blonde, said from her home in Austin, Tex. "Maybe I represent the flight attendants of the past." Which one, the dumb blonde one? The sexist tool one? In another, she is leaning over the seats, her blouse unbuttoned, exposing part of her bra. Ms. Simonetti said she posted those photographs because she thought they made her look pretty *shrug*
  • None of those pics looked the least bit indecent to me at all.
  • Asking Delta to purchase ad space did her in; they didn't know about the blog until then. That was either stupid or ballsy. I'm gonna go with "stupid."
  • I'm sort of surprised that she was bright enough to be a flight attendent, they usually strike me as fairly intelligent. If you read the article, it states that Delta evidently found out because she TOLD them about it as she was seeking paid ads for the blog. sheesh..... just goes to show that being vain, greedy, and less than bright all at the same time can result in bad things happening!
  • Anyone else think this was an elaborate ploy to get more hits on her blog?
  • Trampnews... what, she got herself fired to get more hits??? I'm not sure that makes a whole lot of sense....??
  • Where are the gay airline steward blogs where they show us their pecs? I'm waiting impatiently... *harumph*
  • HB, what about this whole thing does make sense? Like you said, she's not the brightest crayon in the box.
  • This gay steward may have a blog in him. ;)
  • He's got something in him, that's for sure. A little pizazz? A little je ne sais quas? Joie de vivre? Ten pints of lager?
  • I bet he has little green footballs... :) sorry... I couldn't resist... me shut up now.
  • Anyone else find it ironic that the gay flight attendant was fired and forced to undergo alcohol abuse counseling and then GOT A JOB AT A PUB? LOL... Fiction can't beat reality, sometimes.
