"Don't take us there!"... At least not until we decide whether "There" exists. Wikipedia's NPOV (Neutral Point of View) Disputes Page

Found after being inspired to look by SideDish's interesting comment elsewhere here. On another level, I can't help but think that it makes a nice group process-generated list of topics to consider avoiding at light-hearted social occasions, family reunions, job interviews, MetaTalk, USENET, t-shirts you're giving as office Christmas presents, and so on. Unless perhaps you like that sort of thing. "Not that there's anything wrong with that!"

  • Great Old Ones! They neatly fall into two categories: Palestine, and HTML Editors.
  • I'm perusing the Non-Christian perspectives on Jesus, and I'm not really seeing that much wrong with it. It seems like it's saying, "The jews believe X, the Buddhists Y" and so on. I think they're just afraid of the amount of work that posting these will entail from a moderation perspective. Whether it's accurate or not, I'm not sure, but it doesn't seem biased.
  • And the 'Late Late Show' generates that much controversy? Guess I go to bed to early.

  • Sandspider: If you look at the talk page you'll see there also seems to be a lot of infighting amongst Christians around, eg, who's a Christian (with one group apaprently pushing the idea that Mormons and Jhovah's Witnesses aren't because they don't have an orthodox trinitarian view). It lead me to the interesting Mandaeans, who I hadn't heard of previously.
  • For those of you not used to Wikipedia who want to see the big fights (actually, usually things are kept reasonably civil), click on the link to the article, they go to the "discussion" tab which is where all the behind the scenes bickering happens.
  • Oh, and do by all means look at the turf war the clitoris article is right now. It's being reverted at least once an hour right now, lot's of fun for the whole family. Warning: the article contains a picture of female genitalia. Oh wait, now it doesn't. Oh wait, now it does again. Warning: the article contains an unecessary disclaimer. Wait, now it doesn't. (etc).
