"We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars."
[Oscar Wilde]. For your night-skying pleasure: Free monthly skymaps at (of course) SkyMaps; local satellite and spaceship activity at Heaven's Above; and my favorite, what's in the sky tonight at Earth & Sky. Great resources for the backyard
stargazer.

Nice stuff, Fes. Thanks. Oscar Wilde? I thought it was The Pretenders. Who knew? </nothing_good_happened_before_the_80___and_not_much_after_for_that_matter>

Ha, I got the same song going in my haid, el_hombre. And a second "nice stuff." I've used Heavens-Above for years to predict pass over of Mir, the ISS, shuttle missions and ham radio satellites. It's a great site. Here's to clear winter skies coming up.

I found this very cool interactive chart once while looking for star maps a while back.

I only just noticed the name of this post! Saw in yesterday's paper that the Church were touring again, new record out, etc. Not bad considering the amount of heroin those guys have gotten through.

Good links, thanks! I've used Heavens-Above for a while now and it's very handy. Try looking up a few bright satellite events the next clear night. It's fun to go out knowing what's going to pass overhead and then to spot it as it does.
