Bombaby
- a comic by Antony Mazzota. "Sangeeta is, in fact, the reincarnation of India's ancient protector, the Goddess of Mumbai. But how will Sangeeta use this new-found power?"
One of Sangeeta's powers is her voice. (Her name means music.) The quality of the cover art and what looks like a mix of the superhero and Bollywood genres recently caught my attention.

Oops. I meant to include a link to some preview pages and to note that the first link requires Flash.
-
This looks interesting - but the preview stops just as things start to make a little sense. Bombaby is still a bit dizzy and fashion oriented. I love the Buffy thing, but would like to see non dizzy female teenage heroes too.
-
I'd picked up the first issue of this and... well, it was more interesting in concept than execution. It was a "wow, so that's all there is?" sort of reading experience. The cover art and the concept were a huge draw though, and I'd love to see it done better.

That's too bad, but thanks patita. I was hoping to hear from someone who had picked up a copy. jb, I'm going to guess that you mean ditzy, and I can see that, though I wonder how much of that is just the caricature look. "non dizzy female teenage heroes" --?--maybe some of the X-men teens? I still remember a storyline about Firestar as a teen, but it might have been a one-time thing.
-
...maybe some of the X-men teens? Shadowcat? Jubilee? Rogue (way back when)? I think all teenage heroes are given the ditz treatment for at least one ish. Poor Robin.
-
Robin didn't strike me so much as a ditz as sometimes naive and well, boyish. He might have had a bar mitzvah and ditched the pantyhose if he wasn't the perpetual Boy Wonder. I wonder if there is a limit on how much I can post in a thread I started. There should be one.
