boo! Grab the candy popcorn, sit back and relax it's time for some Creepy Clips - just in time for Hallowe'en (req. real player)

Re-visit some scary scenes from classics such as, I was a Teenage Zombie, An American Werewolf in London, Army of Darkness.

  • Me being me, I forgot to add, What is the scariest movie or movie scene you have seen?
  • The Ring. (Or Ringu. They're equally scarifying.)Definitely. When the girl comes out of the tv. *shudder*
  • the ring was great - still haven't seen Ringu - want to though. Should have added, mine are the directors cut of the Exorcist when Regan is crawling down the stairs crab-like. Exorcist 3 where the old women is crawling along the ceiling. Ju On ('the grudge') has a similar scene and gave me the creeps as well. The American version of the movie didn't creep me out like it's japanese counterpart did. hmm noticing a personal theme here
  • I want to see Ju On, because I will admit that the Grudge had me sleeping with the lights on two nights straight. (I don't think this is a spoiler, but you might want to stop reading now if you haven't seen the Grudge. Ok? Ok. Here I go...) I saw The Grudge as a kinda sorta maybe metaphor for domestic violence (looked at in a certain way, that *is* the curse? Kinda?). Does that hold true in the original?
  • Oh, and my local video store (which is *so good* for such a small town) also has Ringu 0 (prequel) and Ringu 2, which I need to see. Scary!
  • Ringu 2 is unfortunately a dud.
  • meredithea I'd agree after seeing Ju On. The American film reminds me of trying to understand Engrish ... lol. The American version took some relevant scenes out and confused the storyline. I might be biased as well I usually favour an original over a copycat, one of my pet peeves about hollywoods attempts at remakes ie: City of Angels vs Wings of Desire or Steven Kings Kingdom Hospital vs the orignal Danish series, The Kingdom.
  • Oh, I definitely agree. The Kingdom = fabulous, worth watching on Independent Film Channel until 4am goodness, Stephen King's Kingdom = ok, I'll watch it if nothing else is on. And City of Angels was manipulative crap. (But no, meredith, tell us what you *really* think!) I'll have to track down Ju On and invite over the boyfriend, then. We both watched the Grudge through our fingers, so the real version should be good :)
  • If you have a choice between Ju-On: The Grudge (which was the version released in theaters) or the straight to video Ju-On which was the first one that started it all, I'd say go for the video. Strange to say, but for my money, the video version is scarier than the theatrical. But both are damn scary, though. However, avoid Ju-On 2. It's a retread (the first 30 mins are lifted from the first film) and not nearly as scary.
