Curious, George: webradio
Having got our Freevo unit up and running, we've now convinced it to play webradio. What recommendations do people have for good broadcasts/stations? I'll try any style of music. (Hey, now I can hear all those NPR interviews everyone talks about.)

For good, comercial free, jazz: KKJZ And good, comercial free, classical music: KUSC Although lately they are having problems with their web broadcasting.

I didn't know freevo did webradio...that sounds pretty cool. Personally, I like listening to the local NPR streams, if it is available near me. Right now the closest I have is WBEZ in Chicago.
-
Freevo can do pretty much anything you ask it to. We have MAME running on there too with several dozen old-school arcade games as well as all our photos and mp3s, and a weather report function that updates every 10 minutes or so. Thanks for the recommendations, monkeys.

if you've got some free time on between 9PM-2AM saturdays EasternST (for you NZ'ers i believe that falls on the 3rd thursday of every odd month) I recommend Jazz Classics on my local NPR station. Also college radio will blow your skirt up, sometimes even in a good way.

Brainwashed Radio is pretty good, if you like fairly obscure alternative stuff.
-
On the obscure and alternative front, Resonance FM is just amazing. London based 'art' station, commercial free with a strict (ish) 'no hits' policy. You might hear anything from drill'n'bass to obscure lounge classics, or an in-depth discussion of performance poets, or some weird comedy, or just the sound of birdsong that someone recorded in their garden that morning. Home to the b3ta radio show, amongst other things, they celebrated last Christmas with 24 hours of Throbbing Gristle. Oh, and there's a show called BANALITY. Which, er, I do. Sometimes.

BearGuy - not far to go now! Just another 30 or so. Keep on truckin'.

Thank god! This is getting exhausting.
