Say What? In this time of misunderestimation and le circumlocucioun, listen to the 100 Best Speeches and remember that there once was a time when we weren't forced to choose between a lesser of two weevils.
  • Thank you, thank you, thank you. Wonderful link. I'm furling this right now.
  • great link! worth at least two, no, three bananas!
  • I haven't had time to really dig into the meat of this site - I'm reading some of the ones I'm not familiar with, and it's enlightening - but it's interesting that: - Nixon cleans up real well on that list, in the same league as Reagan and JFK - Bill Clinton barely shows up at all, and gets eclipsed by Hillary... but it's true, Clinton was one of our most charismatic presidents, but his apologies are more memorable than his speeches - I suppose it's too recent to judge, but I'm surprised no post-9/11 speeches made it on there. Okay, maybe not Bush, but Giuliani did good... hell, Jon Stewart even, though that wouldn't qualify as "rhetoric" I guess.
  • Those MLK speeches still give me chills. JFK's are not far behind. What a find! Thanks for sharing.
  • Fantastic link, Fes, thank you. As a non-American, there are quite a few of these I've never come across before and I'm glad to have had the opportunity to hear them. Stirring stuff.
