Sportscenter recieves some important guests. ESPN's Sportscenter will have both George W. Bush and John Kerry on the show Monday night, the night before the election.

Apologies for the Newsfilter/Amirant but seriously, 3 stinkin "debates" and the night before the election they decide that THIS is the best way they can serve and inform the public before the vote?

  • Note this has already been taped at some earlier date, each candidate gave them a seperate interview at some point, not a joint appearance or debate. Just a cash-in by ESPN/Disney.
  • That is hella low.
  • This election is a joke.
  • This is almost worse than that time Nixon and McGovern popped out of a haystack and debated the night before the election on Hee Haw
  • Almost.
  • That does it. I'm voting for Wanda Sykes. Just kidding. Go Kerry!
  • It is harmless. ESPN is obviously airing it that night to maximize their ratings. If Bush and Kerry were doing that live on the election eve, then I would be worried. Bush will be too busy making sure that those Republican volunteers are ready in the polling places to ensure that only registered voters are going to vote. I wonder what sort of physical characteristics might inspire the volunteers to question a voter's eligibility.
  • Is it possible to register to vote and vote at the same time?
  • True enough that they won't actually be there, but it's still sad that people actually care about Kerry's view on Pete Rose's place in the baseball hall of fame. Reminds me of the "Boxers or Briefs" type of joke debate MTV puts on. Tracicle: Only certain states allow someone to register and vote at the polls on election day. Not sure which ones.
  • Is it possible to register to vote and vote at the same time? For the U.S., there's a chart on this page that has the complex, state-by-state answer. I was surprised to learn that you can both register and vote on election day, but only in a few states like New Hampshire and Minnesota. And even more surprisingly, it looks like North Dakota doesn't even have voter registration!
  • Anybody whose vote is influenced by which one of Bush and Kerry is a fucking retard. Not even gonna pretend politeness on this one.
  • That is to say, Anybody whose vote is influenced by which one of Bush and Kerry is a better/bigger/more enthusiastic/more knowledgeable sports fan is a fucking retard. Sorry.
