Curious, George: free font managers I’ve been searching for a good font manager and have been hoping to find a free one that is user friendly. I’ve looked around and can’t find any good reviews on any sties or blogs.
  • I use typograf but it is shareware and eventually they'll want to squeeze $35 out of you. Might want to check out fontlister which can be found here
  • I use akFontViewer for the fonts installed on my system, and Font Lister for the fonts not installed on my system (I have over 2000 fonts; installing them all would cause my system to self-destruct, not to mention that some programs [mostly Adobe products] can only use the first 700ish installed fonts).
  • I use The Font Thing for my modest font managing needs.
  • Lately I've been playing with AMP Font Viewer at http://www.ampsoft.net. Still looking for a really good one.
