Porn or Art? Bearing in mind how thin some materials are these days, perhaps paint is just as modest a choice. (Probably NSFW)

  • Until there's an automated way of getting "dressed" this way, it would just take too long to be practical, even putting legalities aside. But when a robot valet is ready for sale, call me!
  • Great link. The "Mother Earth" at the bottom is beautiful. I don't think it's pornographic at all: it's provocative but not intended to tittilate. And next summer I intend to encourage some of my female friends to allow me to dress them in exactly such a provocative manner. (It's a bit chilly for that at the moment.)
  • I say its art. None of the positions are really sexual, aside from the nakedness, and hey, David was naked too. And Jerry is right some of them were beautiful.
  • A Google image search for "body art" returns some interesting (and NSFW) stuff.
  • They don't look naked. The colour does seem to make them look clothed. Maybe it is because these are just photographs.

  • How about this airbrush job I captured earlier this year? I think body art is definitely art, and I've seen some impressive examples in the Burning Man community.

  • Well, Nostrildamus just found an excellent way to put my thoughts into words. This is very interesting stuff, and I'm awed by the artistry of it, but it can't be porn because I don't find it sexual at all. But then, I've always found scantily clad women much more sexy than naked women. I've seen a swimsuit calendar where all the swimsuits were painted on, and you can't tell without looking VERY closely.
  • rocket88, by that logic I think we have to reclassify Playboy as art because it stopped being sexually arousing around, oh, 1987 or so.
  • Naked women--actual naked women, not depictions thereof--are neither art nor pornography, despite having been painted on.
  • It's only pornography if it's the people involved in it's production are trying to make something to masterbate to/at, or trying to make something to aid visually during sex.
