N.J. extends same-sex rights
  • YAY! I find this especially exciting in light of Britney Spears' wedding. If that didn't shoot holes in the whole "sanctity of marriage" argument, I don't know what will.
  • Wow! NJ was really conservative when I lived there eight years ago, and has a large Catholic population. I remember the face-downs when people were demonstrating for abortion rights. This is a big surprise for me. On the other hand, NJ is (or was?) the most bureaucratic state that I'm familiar with - even getting your car registered was a mammoth pain, so I can imagine what fun the back offices could have making up regulations to implement the law. ... I thought about making up an Application for Same-sex Rights, but maybe they've really changed. Anyone from NJ out there who can give us tesimony?
  • I believe the Governor of New Jersey has endorsed Dean. I remember thinking his name was creepy at the time. McGreevey I think? Something like that. In any case, he's fairly liberal.
  • Well Duh. His name is right there in the article. Silly Kimberly.
  • or even "testimony?"
  • Pfft. Same ol' sex rights? I want new ones.
  • Oh ... right. Oops.
  • Hmm, anyone know how many states now have same sex rights?
