U.S. Election Simulators "Playing as Kerry in one round of Political Machine, I won the popular vote but lost the election. The game didn't offer me a recount." Uh oh...
  • I <3 President Forever. Best $10 I've spent on video games this year save for the $10 I've put down toward GTA San Andreas. The article is wrong, though. There was a political simulation game back for the 1996 election. That plus the excellent Shadow President were favorites of mine when I was a young teen interested in politics and intrigue.
  • If you're a Republican, get some illicit jollies by playing as John Kerry, just like American war gamers like to play as the Axis powers in World War II games. Did he just say that pretending to be John Kerry is just like pretending to be Nazi Germany?
  • Did he just say that pretending to be John Kerry is just like pretending to be Nazi Germany? Well, saying that pretending to be Bush would be like pretending to be Nazi Germany would be a little too close to the truth. Hi-ooooooo! Thanks, folks, I'll be here all week, try the fish!
  • For a free politics sim, there's Nation States, which is nothing like the book it's promoting. the book is real good, the sim is kinda fun for a couple weeks
  • I played the free one; pretty neat. I seemed to win way too easily though - I was also pretty fake, I was all lefty-left but then I put that I was for free trade agreements. Oh, and in the too easy camp: I won Texas. There no fucking way my campaign that was against oil drilling in Alaska, for same-sex marriage, and against education vouchers would win in Texas! Still, thanks a bunch for the links, it was fun! (And time-wasting!)
  • This isn't really a game game, but the LA Times has a handy flash applet for testing out various electoral scenarios.
  • Scary stuff.
