NY Times endorses Kerry.
I'm not sure if this is a big deal or not, but the New York Times has endorsed Kerry in a a very well-written editorial (login required). It certainly caught my eye.

bugos6/bugos worked for me.

"He is blessedly willing to re-evaluate decisions when conditions change." And in strong contrast, Bush is incapable of admitting any doubt about decisions made over serious, complex issues.
-
Can't find the reference at the moment, but I read earlier today that every major paper has endorsed the same party candidate this year as they did in 2000, which makes it pretty much a non-story in my book. We'd have more of a story if someone who backed Bush last time didn't this time, or backed the Democrats last time that backed Bush this time. (Assuming what I read earlier was correct in the first place.)

mecurious, try this list.

If by well-written you mean lecturing to their readers, I agree. I concur with Atrios that Gail Collins is a poor institutional voice for the Times. (Note: I don't quibble at all with the content; just the style.)

Thanks for the link, yed. They seem to have gotten that list from Editor & Publisher (October 11th info) which appears to be a less biased source, as well. October 16th and 17th articles on the same subject. This source looks like a keeper if you are interested in watching the newspaper endorcement issue.
