  • I was going to post this a couple weeks ago, but since it has been posted twice already, I figured I better not. ;)

  • They're far in the past, pre-Collapse Era. You're not going to be able to find them, so you can't be faulted. And MusicPlasma is so cool, it needs to be brought up every once in a while. Though I'm still curious who Warren Zevon is, and how the heck is he bigger than Neil Young.

  • I was also wondering - how was the size of bubble determined? Sales, number of recordings, or how often cited as an influence? And which directions are the influences flowing?
  • Think it is popularity jb. I did a search for front 242 and the bands listed seemed to follow what the site says about the graphs: "The artist such as represented in clusters relate to one another through there(sic) musical style (Rock, Funk, Pop, Folk, Elctro) but also similar epochs (60's, 70's...) The halo surrounding an artist's name represents how popular he is..." Thanks for posting it pete_best I missed it the first time around. On a related note anyone remember a site that allowed you to do a similar search? What I remember of it was, type in a band you like and the result would come back as "If you like X then you might enjoy Y" I lost the bookmark a long time ago and I can't find the site again.
  • I haven't been able to figure out what color signifies. The key doesn't say. I kinda suspect it's random, but if so, it remembers the randomly chosen color, because it doesn't seem to change.

  • I posted this 6-8 months ago or so, but I really don't care about double posts that much. A lot of new members have come on board since then. I suspect that most of the people who like to complain about double posts are really just grasping at anything they can do to make themselves feel better by putting others down. Don't worry about 'em. Last time I checked the search feature only goes back a week or so, anyway due to ISP/moving problems.
