Lyrical, George: Monkey Music Monday Madness! Grime (Warning! 2x large mp3s), a groundswell of tech-savvy, "urban" music producers, centered in East London (where it's called Grime) and South London (Dubstep). Since the release of Dizzee Rascal's Boy In Da Corner Grime blew up worldwide throughout 2003, with its blend of heavy square-wave basslines, hardcore drums, mobile phone ringtones, and manic mc'ing.

I described grime to a friend recently as 'the sound of a tweaked-out soundsystem in a souped-up Astra, screaming through an East London estate. Two tooled-up Yardies in the back, a Cockney and an Asian in the front, bringing it large'... Check out the mix, see what the Monkey Massive makes of it!

  • Dizzee Rascal is most excellent - you are fully digging on him for 3 hours, then suddenly want to punt him to the moon. I like music like that.
  • Dizzee's fun. This one's Dizzee vs The Strokes and that proves to be a great combination.
