Are you ready to rock.... DOKAKA Style?
This could be cooler, but i'm not especially sure how. The Songs in the Key of Life cover is aces, but Smells Like Teen Spirit may never sound more nihilistic and insane than here.

Holy. Crap. I could not stop from laughing after hearing Smells Like Teen Spirit. It was more like choking and crying at the same time. Sweet Jeebus, it's too much.
-
The Flying Pickets never sounded like this. This is truly amazing.
-
Kid Charlemagne is my favorite. as good, or better than the original...
-
do you need more infomations about my MOUTH SYSTEM??? No, thank you.
-
After listening to all five minutes of 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' my throat hurts just thinking about it. But it did make me laugh!
-
For a different type of cover band, check out Richard Cheese.
-
He says it's all vocal but it sounds like there's definitely some processing involved. (his logo IS of his voice running through a circuit diagram) Regardless... pretty impressive.
-
That is the most amazing thing I've ever heard, ever. I want to buy this man and put him in a small box.
-
I heart this. These are going on my Dell Jukebox IMMEDIATELY.
-
I've listened to most of them now - I think the cover of Iron Maiden's The Trooper is the best one here. I can't stop listening to it. (I expect my dreams will be fairly disturbing tonight.)
-
Dokaka is going to be on the new Bjork album, which should be interesting.
-
I also heard about that dng and am salivating at the thought.
-
this thread only beat the Dokaka thread on Mefi by 132 days...
-
Even tho' it's my thread and I DID find this guy on my lonesome.... Actually...
-
But now they have an updated link - the IUMA link has not been working for me. Not that I can download anything to hear (very slow server - possibly mefi'd).
-
could I be less helpful? first, taking a dig at metafilter for posting something that had been posted here long ago. then not noticing that there were two different links. shouldn't have said anything without checking this. and hey, forks, ooops. first in line shoulda been you with a call of double post. or, well, no, i guess not if it was a new link. i dunno. i see the iuma link is dead and i coulda swore i grabbed some dokaka last year from either epitonic or insound but i see no evidence of that. so maybe what I had previously grabbed was from iuma and the dokaka website and if neither of those are available then.... p2p? after all, they were public domain dokaka downloads on offer. but, now, looking back, I see it was the similarly odd covers from 386 DX that I had grabbed from insound. which is also kind of neat.
-
Updated link gspm, yer cool; don't sweat.
-
Dokaka appears on the soundtrack of We Love Katamari for PS2.

For some reason, Dokaka just makes me think of Gymkata. And that, my friends, is not a good thing.
