So, the civet cats
of Guandong, a "local delicacy" suspected of playing a role in SARS, are being culled. Did you ever find yourself wondering how they might taste?
-
"a rare type of coffee bean, known as kopi luwak in Indonesia and caphe cut chon Vietnam, that is purported to have traveled through the intestinal tract of civet cats. The animals' stomachs can't quite break down the coffee, apparently, so they excrete the beans whole. Coffee connoisseurs prize the brew for its especially robust flavor" Wow. I'll never think about the term "robust flavor" quite the same way. Thanks, Wolof. I had no idea what I was missing!
-
Also purported to pass through the rear end of a monkey. Cattacino, anyone?
-
Don't you mean 'scattacino'? Sorry. Couldn't help myself.
-
Now I'm dying to try some kopi luwak. Call me sick.
-
Sticking to rich black tea, me.

I'm sure I commented on this before. It must have been a double post....or was it? *Twilight Zone theme plays

Think Kopi Luwak is overpriced and want better poop coffee for less money? It is, and you do. Forget the old and busted. The new hotness is Jacu Bird coffee. Discovered this evening while making my order from Sweet Maria's, a company that all by itself justifies the very existence of the internet.
