Not really a Curious, George. I noticed this link was posted by anonymous.

Presumably this was posted by someone who has either terminated their account or been banned. My question, or whatever, is wherever reverting all the comments of killed accounts to anonymous is sensible. Mightn't it get to the point where old threads are completely incomprehensible (or more so, at least) because all the comments are attributed to the anonymous account. (I don't know whether this is appropriate for a post here, really, so delete away tracicle if necessary)

  • Ban him!
  • Dang! Either we're secretly banning miscreants, or someone self-terminated. Both possibilities sound sad... Let the rumor-mill begin! (Or could someone explain to this idiot what the heck is going on...?)
  • I vaguely remember noticing that we used to have 321 members, and now we are down to 320, so I'm guessing somebody left. I don't remember anything ban-worthy happening lately, at least not that I noticed, so perhaps somebody decided they didn't like our little sandbox. This comment makes me wonder if that anonymous person didn't become #17174 on that other site. not that I'm paranoid or anything. just being silly. oh, and I like it fine here. It's a lovely sandbox.
  • I haven't banned anyone, so I guess they deleted their own account. Can't remember who posted that one either, which is a bummer. I don't know of a way to fix the deleted accounts reolsving to "anonymous", sadly. I'm tempted to ask people not to delete accounts when they leave, for the reason dng stated. I doubt it will happen too often, though.
  • Our missing monkey is Patsee, as revealed by an intensive search of "monkeyfilter profile" via Google. I haven't been sure till now if posting to the archives was possible.
  • We can, I think, post to any thread we like, beeswacky. And that's some good google sleuthing, too.
  • dng is right: we can post to any thread, regardless of date. In fact, I second dng all round - nice detective work. I wonder what happened to Patsee.
  • Mightn't it get to the point where old threads are completely incomprehensible (or more so, at least) because all the comments are attributed to the anonymous account. You have no idea how incomprehensible some have become. dng is right: we can post to any thread, regardless of date. And, regardless of the sidebar, which at this point, probably needs a break. (Jesus, this is taking a long time. I mean, @#$%, it's 500 threads now and nuthin. Not a peep out of the old BG. Who knew?)
