Have a million things to do but motivation dissipates since there's no organization. I thought that if I break stuff up into manageable chunks, I might get things done and done on time. SO, I want a Windows-based planning software. Features required: 1)Ability to create tasks and subtasks with fields indicating description and expected time requirement. 2)Calender function to schedule these tasks 3)Ability to track (sub)task completion, once manually updated. 4)Based on 3, ability to reschedule missed (sub)tasks to the next preferred timeslot. 5)Cheap :) I've been learning PHP/MySQL, so if by Thursday afternoon, I don't find such a planner, I'll try to write one myself as a learning project. So, also provide your feature wishlist to incorporate (if I don't find a planner by Thursday.)

If you're not allergic to Microsoft, my first impulse would be to go with the 400 lb. gorilla - Outlook. I use it at both home and work, it does all the things you specify, a little VB and it's fairly customizable, it syncs superbly with Palm OS handhelds, and it'll import nearly anything out of the box. If you have big, long-term multi-item projects, I'd add MS Project to the mix. If MS is not an option? ACT, maybe, might do what you want. Another program I've used is Maximizer, it's got all that you want but good luck ever switching to different software, it's a real bitch to get data out of it in an importable format. Hope this helps.

Does Outlook comes only with Office coz I already have OpenOffice?
-
Nah, you can buy it separate. Amazon; you can find it cheaper on Ebay

How about Palm Desktop? It's a free download and you don't need a Palm for it to work?

Though, I would recommend also you buy a Palm or any other kind of PDA. They're worth it.
