Curious George Should I charge my cell phone nightly?

I've always had the type of phone where you should let the battery run out before charging it. I got a new Samsung not too long ago but have heard that even though Samsung says you can re-charge whenever you want, doing so will still mess up the "memory" of your battery. I don't want to shorten the battery length (which is already pretty darn short) but I hate it when my phone dies in the middle of the day.

  • Lithium-Ion batteries have no "memory." That was older Nickel Cadmium batteries. So yes you should just go a head an charge it nightly. By the time the battery dies you'll probably want a new phone anyway.
  • yes
  • Do nickel metal hydride batteries (NiMH) have memory? I use those often.
  • mem'ries....... light the corners of my nickel cadium battery
  • No, but you should change it nightly.
  • Google is my friend (slowwww server)
  • Nope. Every other night. Otherwise you be killin' the battery. Won't run out daily, if you're sensible in usage. *me has Samsung too*
