Back to the garden
A visit with Joni Mitchell
-
Good story, thanks. I didn't know she'd been reunited with her daughter: that's good to know. When Blue was released I was impressed, then bought whatever she released when it came out. Some of her records are difficult to appreciate on first listen (Hejira comes to mind here), but they all hold up well. Court and Spark is possibly the best jazz-influenced folk-rock record ever made.

Aaargh. Back to your Linkin Park nonsense, you infidels.

What I've seen of her paintings is beautiful. I'd like to see her work if she shows in LA.

She's a terrific songwiter, but I think her biggest contribution to music is her innovative use of unique alternate guitar tunings. Jimmy Page has stated that much of Led Zeppelin's third album was heavily influenced by Joni's guitar sound.
