Mixerman Chronicles A fascinating and very...long...read about the trials and tribulations of a horrible band signed by a major label that just can't get its **** together.
  • This might help.
  • I read that a while ago. Very, very funny. Anyone got any idea who the band are? For some reason all the way through I was thinking it was the Libertines, but it probably wasn't.
  • What's this mixed hardware+software package "Mixerman"'s calling "Alsihad"? Makes me wonder how old this article is. Also, gramatically challenged.
  • Sorry, "cholngged".
  • The posts were in real time in summer of 2002. As for alsihad: ok, going off memory (because I'm not going to read a hundred pages to find the real answers): alsihad was not a new package when the chronicles were written, and from what I gather, it was extremely widespread, so my guess is ProTools. And, yeah, the guy isn't a great writer, nor a good person, but the story itself is damn interesting.
  • But you can use ProTools on any computer! What is this "hardware" thing? And why does he spell it "Alsihad", then point out that his invented word is pronounced "Alsihod"? Mysteries. Patsee?
  • "Funny" answer of sorts to one of my questions here. It does sound like ProTools. That said, this guy is definitely a sub-species of the genus "roadie".
  • Alsihad is def. ProTools. The "Free" version of ProTools is hardware independant, but the retail versions all require external harware components. This is an interesting read, but I have to agree that the guy is a tool who loves complaining.
