Attention CD Swappers: Build a lamp from empty CD spindles!
Maybe we should have a "how to make interesting things out of leftover junk" thread, since I'm springcleaning this weekend.

Maybe your CD lamp could be accompanied by stereo speakers made from flowers?

So no one knows of any other such projects that come out useful, rather than junk. I hate making things like this where it is like the saying "Ashes to ashes, junk to junk" This lamp actually sees neat, and useful for my needs in my house.

All I know of is sewing-related stuff - you can make rag rugs or braided rugs out of nearly any old clothes, not to mention scrap quilts. Of course, that usually has limited cool potential and takes a long time. That's pretty neat, though.
