Yaaaaaiiii! War-torn Bosnian city of Mostar to erect statue to promote peace and unity. Then decides to be original
  • Fuck'n good idea.
  • I heard about this on the radio and the guy being interviewed listed reasons why Bruce Lee was a good choice. "He was a non-smoker" seemed weak. But his life story and a Lee quote he recited about overcoming bigger, stronger opponents sounded great. I can't find it though, despite looking through a number of his other quotes online.
  • heh. Yet another mad deed in a mad world.
  • Large statues of deceased martial artists is, as mad deeds go, far more desireable than the sorts of mad deeds favoured by such luminaries as mssrs Rumsfeld, Cheney, Wolfowitz & Bush, et al. I'm for more mad deeds of this type. Huzzah!
  • Hell, yes, Nostril -- personally, I would like to see far more artists, musicians, writers, etc. and their works commemorated as well as actors. A refreshing change to see Lee honoured, since politicians often opt for war memorials or some other celebration of humanity's attributes. However, I'm not holding my breath expecting to see this volte-face catch on big-time.
  • Agreed.
  • This would go nicely with this statue in Lithuania.
  • This is great. And now I want a statue of Jackie Chan.
  • A Statue to FRANK ZAPPA??? Why haven't I heard about this??? I know he was asked to be the Czech minister of culture.. but wOOOOAw! (Nostril adores Frank & his legacy)
