Devoter.com -- Kissing babies and giving stump speeches. A new PoliticalFilter by jca. [Via MeFi.]
  • This MeFi clone lead to a few comments in MetaTalk. ;)
  • It's a great site, and I am glad it exists (hooray jca!), but there's one tiny problem: it is completely US-centric. Now that is perfectly fine as long as it doesn't also claim to be the "world of politics".
  • Well, I saw 3 references to the upcoming Oz election on the front page, so it can't be *completely* US-centric. It's also soliciting members, so it will, I imagine, be as country-specific as the membership decides. I'd probably check up on how to spell "collaborative", though. Maybe "uncollaborative", also, while I was up and typing and all that. Top of the page, credibility thing, what ho. Hope it's a raging success, jca!
  • tensor: yes, it's very American and liberal biased at the moment. The site is brand spanking new, so we're still trying to attract a broad range of good posters. The site will always be centered around the US political system (you don't need to look any further than our mastehead graphics to see that), but links covering politics in the rest of the world are welcomed and encouraged. Wolof: I became a designer (and a copywriter!) because I couldn't spell well. ;)
  • This is a great idea, though if you do plan to be worldwide, then perhaps the US flag in the header isn't a great idea. Maybe you could rotate flags by the day, or by whatever country is having a major election :) When is the Australian federal, Wolof?
  • Is devoter, like askme, Metafilterian territory? My deep Blue exile extends to the provinces.
  • Nah. Let's anybody register it looks like. Didn't you leave by choice?
  • Aye. It's a self-imposed exile, but honor mandates the protocols be upheld. One doesn't commit seppuku and then haunt the samurai out on patrol, after all.
  • When is the Australian federal, Wolof? October 9.
  • Heh. I'd be the worst ghost ever. "More offerings, or would you like me to follow you around moaning for a week or two?" Ethereality could have definite benefits.
  • I'd like to think I'd be something of a chain-rattler, myself. Inexplicable, yet obviously from beyond, you know?
  • Hey, I know this website. I think I posted there once or twice.
